Summer time is in full swing here in Boston! With the awful heat wave finally behind us, locals and tourists alike are returning to the streets for outdoor fun like shopping, free concerts and, of course, dining! With so many great options all over the city, it can be difficult to pick just one spot! While the South End is charming, cozy and tucked away, dining on Boston’s historic waterfront is an experience not to be missed. Here are some of our personal favorites!
Miel at the Intercontinental Boston is a Provencal themed restaurant that boats 90 seats outside along the Fort Point Chanel. The Intercontinental Hotel Group prides itself on the highest level of quality and value for all of its guests, whether spending the night or just the evening in the dining room. One can be assured of the most enjoyable and relaxing experience. Menu staples include Pistou Soup, La Bouillabaisse and honey crème brulee. Miel is also a certified Green Restaurant!

The Legal Seafood’s Restaurant group recently added a new location to its dining arsenal: Legal Harborside. This 3 story monster features a market, a fine dining restaurant and a rooftop bar over looking the water. Don’t feel like driving? Sail up to their dock and avoid the infamous Boston traffic. The first floor features a seafood and specialty food market as well as a casual dining space. For more special occasions, try the second floor fine dining restaurant where the fresh seafood is never disappointing. And for those looking for a rocking time, hit the roof. Music, dancing, great drinks and unbeatable views await you.

With one of the largest outdoor dining spaces on the waterfront, The Daily Catch is definitely a place to check out! They can seat 100 people inside their newly renovated dining room, and a whopping 250 seats outside on the water! There is plenty of off street parking and are close to multiple public transit stations, so there are no excuses not to stop on by! The Daily Catch specializes in Sicilian seafood like fish stew, monkfish marsala and lobster fra diavolo for two!
There are countless fabulous restaurants to try this summer before the cool fall temperatures blow in. After you’ve sampled your fill of New England clam chowder, local scrod, and both hot and cold lobster rolls, stroll on back to your home away from home in the South End. Stop for a drink at Tremont 647 or a glass of wine at Metropolis Café. You can always help yourself to wine or proseco in our guest pantry and enjoy it on our rooftop terrace…
