MFA Exhibitions this Fall

Fresh off the popular exhibition of “Monet and Boston: Lasting Impression,” which was presented in honor of the Museum’s 150th anniversary in 2020, the MFA is back with “Monet and Boston: Legacy Illuminated.” The exhibit highlights 25 masterpieces by the artist showcased from the MFA’s extraordinary holdings of his work. Additional pieces have been loaned from local private collections. The exhibition begins with a look at Monet’s development and early career. Special attention is paid to his engagement with Japanese art through juxtapositions of the artist’s paintings with prints from the MFA’s renowned ukiyo-e collection.

While Monet never traveled to Boston himself, but even during his lifetime his paintings could be found in great numbers throughout of the city.

Somethings to keep in mind for your visit:

General admission tickets can be purchased in person or in advance online and by phone. MFA tickets are valid for one full visit day. Your general admission does not include access to special exhibitions, which require a separate ticket.

Special exhibitions at MFA require all guests, including members, to purchase or reserve a ticket for timed entry. The exhibition ticket grants entry into the gallery within the 30-minute entry window.

Also all visitors and staff are required to wear masks both inside and outside the building regardless of vaccination status. The MFA rules and regulations are in accordance with the latest CDC guidance and state and local mandates.
