Spring may have officially arrived in march, but in Boston spring really arrives when the Museum of Fine Arts hosts Art In Bloom. MFA is proud to celebrate the 49th annual Art in Bloom. The MFA will once again transform into a vibrant spectacle where the timeless beauty of art meets the ephemeral elegance of floral design. This beloved event, a hallmark of the Boston spring for over four decades, promises an unforgettable experience for art lovers, garden enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a dose of creativity & spring.
Set among ancient sculptures, contemporary canvases, and colonial masterpieces, each thoughtfully paired with stunning floral interpretations crafted by talented New England garden clubs, professional designers, and dedicated volunteers. This year’s Art in Bloom boasts an astounding 50 art-inspired floral arrangements, ensuring there’s a fresh discovery around every corner.
The Art in Bloom program begins early with a special Preview Day on Thursday, April 30, from noon to 10 pm, offering a first look at the freshly installed arrangements. For a more intimate experience, private group tours are available. These one-hour guided tours offer an in-depth exploration of the art and arrangement pairings, and advance registration is highly recommended as spaces are limited.
Throughout the weekend visitors can enjoy free drop-in tours of the arrangements, led by knowledgeable MFA volunteers. These informal tours are a fantastic way to gain insights into the inspirations behind the floral creations.
