Ken Oringer was voted most likely to succeed upon graduation from the Culinary Institute of America in 1989. And boy has he proven everyone right! Ken opened his first restaurant, Clio, in 1997 and in 2002, opened Uni, a sashimi bar within Clio. Chef Oringer was nominated four times for the James Beard award for Best Chef Northeast and finally won in 2001. Clio was named one of the top 50 restaurants according to Gourmet Magazine. Jamie Bissonette is the chef at Toro and if the name sounds familiar, then you have probably eaten at his other restaurant, Eastern Standard in Kenmore Square, where he was the opening chef. The Improper Bostonian namedhim “Rising Star Chef “ and has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Bon Appetite, and the Boston Globe and was voted people’s choice Best New Chef in Food and Wine Magazine for his colloborative work with Ken at their restaurant Coppa, also in the South End.

As you can see we love dining at restaurants in downtown, it is one of our favorite things to do in Boston. The convenience of Toro’s location and stellar reputation leave you no reason miss out on the incredible eats and drinks. If the comforting warmth from the food and drink wears off by the time you get back to the Inn for the night, consider a dip in the hot tub before bed. What better way to unwind after a fun-filled day than letting the jets massage your muscles as you take in a view of the city during the peaceful night.
