Things To Do in Boston – Thoreau Photography Exhibit

If you are like the staff at our boston bed and breakfast, and are interested in work by the famous Henry David Thoreau and enjoy photography exhibits, then the Harvard Museum of Natural History has the ideal event for you. Now through September 1, 2014 the museum has an exhibit created by photographer Scott Miller. Miller’s exhibit entitled “Thoreau’s Maine Woods: A Journey in Photographs with Scot Miller”, is in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the publication of The Main Woods by Henry David Thoreau.

Scott Miller spent time retracing the footsteps of Thoreau, and is able to bring to life the words in Thoreau’s book. This exhibit features stunning photos of places that Thoreau visited and wrote about. Scott Miller has also completed photography projects on Thoreau’s famous book Walden. This exhibit brings together two great artists, Thoreau and Miller, and gives visitors a chance to fully immerse themselves in the beauty New England has to offer.  This is an experience you will not want to miss out on. This exhibit is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm every day. For more information about tickets and pricing Arts Boston.
A special event for Miller’s exhibit will be held on Wednesday, December 11 at 6pm. The event, Thoreau Environmentalism – American Landscape at Harvard, will be a roundtable discussion with environmental historians. These historians will explore how Thoreau is still relevant in present day America, and following the discussion is a reception in Miller’s exhibit. Whether you are able to make the discussion on December 11th or not, just make sure to find time to visit Scott Miller’s exhibit on Thoreau before it is too late!
